Track with a thesis / track without a thesis

The specialization program in urban sustainability management is designed to train researchers, planners, experts, leaders and decision makers in the intelligent management of a wide range of environmental challenges in the crowded urban space and in building urban resilience to deal with climate change. The applied and relevant curriculum emphasizes the connection between current theories and regulations and practice.

The program is concentrated on one day a week - Thursday

Compulsory courses

Use of GIS in environmental management and planning - 2 semester hours per week

Field study introduction - 2 semester hours per week

Financial management - 2 semester hours per week

Earth, wind and fire: challenges in the 21st century - 4 semester hours per week

Environmental economics (class and exercise) - 3 semester hours per week

Methodologies in environmental research - 3 semester hours per week

Energy and environmental law - 2 semester hours per week

Applied research - 4 semester hours per week (mandatory for track B only)

Total required courses: 18-22 semester hours per week
