Employment opportunities for graduates of the programs at the School of Environmental Sciences

The school trains researchers, experts, and professionals who will observe nature, understand better and form the future generation in research, management, planning and development in various fields of the environment and sustainability.

We equip our graduates with theoretical knowledge and applied tools to place them at the forefront of environmental research and action.

BA graduates

Graduates of Geography and Environmental Studies will be able to integrate into the employment market in a variety of professions and fields, such as: environmental/sustainability consultants including in planning and development, in the private market and in the public sector, operators of geographic information systems, integration in companies that deal with mapping and measurements/ "green" environmental organizations such as: Israel Nature and Parks Authority, the Society for the Nature Preservation, Jewish National Fund, etc. in bodies dealing with water and land resources - such as Mekorot Co., teaching geography in the education system (for holders of a teaching certificate).

 

MA graduates

Graduates of the MA in natural resources management with a specialization in energy management and policy will find employment in government ministries (environmental protection, energy, economy, transportation, etc.), in government institutes (in the field of energy and the environment), consulting and engineering companies, in the gas, oil and fuel industry, non-governmental organizations that focus on in the fields of environmental quality and energy, and of course, in the education and academic system.

Graduates of the MA in Geography and Environmental Studies with a specialization in Management of Disaster Areas and Emergency Situations integrate into various positions in the field of emergency management, security and safety, both in private companies and in public and government companies. The range of occupations is very broad and includes, for example: management of emergency units in government ministries, management of emergency systems in local authorities, various positions in the emergency authorities in Israel (Israel Nature and Parks Authority, the Society for the Nature Preservation, Jewish National Fund, Home Front Command, Israel Police), cyber protection, humanitarian aid, health service organizations, communication and spokespeople.

Graduates of the MA in Natural Resource Management with a specialization in Urban Sustainability Management will find employment in a variety of planning and environmental management positions in various sectors, including government ministries (environmental protection, energy and infrastructure, interior, finance, agriculture, education, security, etc.), planning committees, Governmental authorities (nature and parks, Israeli land Administration, water, drainage, Israeli ports and more), local authorities, municipal corporations, industry, private, public and government companies, Jewish National Fund, environmental associations, private consulting services, research institutes, academia and more.

Graduates of the MA in Geography and Environmental Studies with a specialization in Water Resources Management can work in a wide range of private bodies, public and governmental organizations such as: Mekorot, the Water Authority, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Agriculture, water corporations, local and municipal councils, environmental consulting companies, purification institutes Wastewater, drainage authorities, and non-profit organizations (NGOs).

Graduates of the MA in Geography and Environmental Studies with a specialization in Spatial Information Systems: GIS and Remote Sensing integrate into diverse roles in the high-tech industry in general and in startup companies in particular, in government offices and security industries. Employment in the positions of product/project managers, technologist, head of R&D, analyst and more; in the field of high technologies, employment in companies for image processing, signal processing, automation, spatial analysis in risk assessment, environmental impact surveys, spatial monitoring such as leaks, infections and more, dynamic systems such as precision agriculture, transportation and more.
